St. Anne Catholic Church

Our history began on October 24, 1897, when Archbishop William Gross dedicated our first church, St. Anne’s, named after the Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupre in Quebec, Canada. In 1954, Fr. Dan Kelly purchased six acres on NE 10th Street, Grants Pass, for a new rectory, church, convent and school building. Fr. Kelly built the rectory in 1956 and started construction on the new church in 1959. The new church was a long rectangular building seating 700 people. Fr. Edmund Murnane, a friend of Fr. Kelly, persuaded the pastor to move the altar to the center of the church so people could see both the altar and the priest. In 2009, Fr. William Holtzinger, native to Southern Oregon, became pastor. In 2013, a process began to update the church building, resulting in prayerful discernment, and fundraising. The demolition of the old church led to the construction of a new one, dedicated on September 1, 2018. In 2022, Fr. Robert Wolf was assigned to our parish as pastor. If you would like to tour our church, please call or visit our office for an appointment. We’d love to share God’s miracle with you.
